We made it!!!!

After 2 flights totalling 17 1/2 hours....we have made it to Beijing!!!
We are exhausted, hungry and tired..but trying to sort out phones and Internet before sleep, so that we know we can communicate with our kiddos back home. First things first, right??
We landed in Beijing and were met by our Guide, George, who drove us to our hotel. We are on our own tomorrow as we wait for the other families in our travel group to arrive, so her gave us some pointers of some "safe" places to venture to alone...i.e..Pizza Hut, KFC, Starbucks, 7-11...haha...he sure knows how us Americans think!!
The hotel is absolutely beautiful..5 star..everything we could ask for...ohh, and dont forget the "Dont drink from the faucet" signs on the sinks. I quickly taped a handtowel over the faucets so that we would not be tempted. We were strictly told by our Guide to NOT drink anything but bottled water here, so it looks like we will be venturing out  to find a nice ole case of waters for our stay.
Not too much more to report today. We have 4 more days before we will get Mia...we will tour with our group here in Beijing until Sunday, and then fly to Zhengzhou where we will meet her on Monday. So, until then, we will just soak up all that Beijing has to offer. They are in the middle of their Spring Festival here. It is celebrated for 15 days and we got the whole rundown of what it symbolizes to the Chinese people, as we we arrived. Its beautifully decorated all around with red lanterns everywhere. You can hear fireworks going off from my hotel room right now. We could even spot them going off as our plane flew in tonight. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to take some pictures when we venture out...
And so, I'll say Goodnight from Beijing....more to come tomorrow!!!
